ABOUT NIKKI LAOYE
Nikki Laoye is a multi-award winning Urban Contemporary Soul Singer from Lagos, Nigeria.
Fondly called "the small one with the big voice", the dynamic recording artiste, who is also a prolific trained dancer, is well renowned for her eclectic cross-over musical expressions with the fusion of R & B, Gospel, Rock, Soul, Pop, HipHop, Jazz and more.
With a musical career spanning over 9 years, Nikki Laoye stepped into the Nigerian Music Industry in 2006 with classic rock single, “Never Felt This Way Before” which received numerous award nominations from KORA Awards, Soundcity Music Video Awards, The Headies, NEA Awards (USA) , City People Entertainment Awards and many more.
After a brief hiatus due to the loss of her Dad in 2011, Nikki Laoye returned in 2013 with the hit singles, “123” and “Only You” to massive response and acknowledgement from fans, the media and the Music Industry in Nigeria and Internationally.
In quick successions, Nikki Laoye received numerous nominations and won different awards including
- the 2015 YadaMag Reader’s Choice – “Best Music Video of the Year – African Dance”
- the Headies 2013 “Best Female Vocal Performance – Only You”
- 2014 African Union’s AFRIMA award for “Best Female Artiste in African Inspirational Music”
- 2014 Nigerian Music Video Awards (NMVA) for “Best Alternative/Rock Video” – Only You
- 2014 African Female Artist of the Year for the Africa Gospel Music Awards, London UK and more.
With classic hits such as “Never Felt This Way Before”, “Taka Sufe”, “Only You”, “123” and the 2015 dance hit with brother/producer, Xblaze – “African Dance”, Nikki Laoye has two contemporary albums namely “Angel 4 Life” (2008) and “The 123 Project” (2014).
Her recent singles - the 2014 dance hit, “123” and “African Dance”, a collaboration dance hit song with her brother/producer Xblaze, released in January 2015, are presently gathering a wide fan base, rave reviews and massive airplay for the captivating singer and dancer across Nigeria and on the International music scene.
"African Dance" has received increased international attention in African countries and parts of Europe for its expression of African dance, culture and message of unity amongst tribes.
THE HUMANITARIAN
Nikki Laoye is the founder of "ANGEL 4 LIFE FOUNDATION" - an organisation established in 2010 to support the development and empowerment of people with disabilities (visually impaired and physically challenged youths) and people of National Concern (Internally Displaced Persons & Refugees).
She has received humanitarian awards for her different project initiatives for the foundation including
- the 2015 Humanitarian Personality of the Year
- the 2014 Ambassador of Charity award
- the 234 Giver Award in 2013 ( for her innovative #BuyACane project which provides support and mobility aids for visually impaired persons).
In 2014, Nikki Laoye was unveiled by the government establishment - NCFRMI (National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons) as the Celebrity Voice of Refugees, in honour of her humanitarian efforts and to serve as an ambassador for the Commission.

Nikki Laoye is a Radio personality with her own radio show, "Girls Rock With Nikki Laoye", airs every thursday on one of the largest internet radio stations in Africa, Praiseworld Radio.com.
She is also a renowned commercial voice artiste with her signature on a couple of popular TV/Radio/Movie Advert Jingles and soundtracks including the popular Konga.com’s I Found Happiness; Fidelity Bank’s No Greater Feeling; MTN’s GO and Yello Family etc
She co-wrote Etisalat’s 0809ja4Life with Cobhams Asuquo and recorded the original version which later had the lead vocals revoiced by popular singer, Banky W.
Nikki Laoye was also one of the first 3 Nigerian artistes ever to be interviewed from Nigeria in 2009
by top American entertainment channel, BET.
She also served as a guest preliminary judge on BET’s music reality show, “Sunday Best”.
Nikki Laoye has also performed alongside top American artistes including Anita Baker, Mary J Blige, Mali Music, Kirk Franklin, Donnie McClurkin and many more.
In 2013, Nikki Laoye teamed up with media mogul, Mo Abudu & her EbonyLife TV team to record a modern version of the Nigerian National Anthem. Its video is renowned today as the official Nigerian National Anthem Video in Nigeria.
Nikki Laoye is a voice for hope, peace and love via her music and also an advocate for people with disabilities and persons of concern (Internally displaced persons and Refugees)
